I'm looking to buy a house in montclair and i'm not sure what areas are the best. My preference is family area, i have 2 children 4 and 2. Commute to NYC is a must? I know nothing about the South End, can anyone give me some info on it???
Commute to NYC is a must? -> Are you not sure about it being a must?
What part of NYC are you commuting to, and what is your necc time frame. For example, if you are commuting to Port Authority - the Buses to NY end up taking Rt.3 Upper Montclair is closer to Rt.3 and might save you 5-15min.
Some parts of the southern end of Montclair can be alittle sketchy, especially right around the Bay St. train station, the areas around Nishuane park are also not as good. The central and upper portions of Montclair are much more desirable.
