Does anybody know what the timetable for this construction is, what days/nights they work, and finally - what the heck are they doing exactly??

Tommy, I can't remember a time in the last 25 years that that bridge was NOT under construction.

I traveled the Extension for 3 years and every single day sucked. That bridge is where Hope dies.

Well, not just the bridge, but 78 in general, east of the main Turnpike. There is construction there, and has been for many years, but it seems to be sporadic, and therefore VERY hard to predict.

Sometimes it's crippling, and seeing that it's really the main exit route west and south of JC, it can be very very frustrating.

I always go the other way, avoiding that whole trap. Usually less overall mileage involved, and more chances to hop off to a different roadway if you get jammed up. And no tolls.

95% of the time I'm getting off at 14A, so I just deal with the bridge construction, which sucks.

And the work isn't stopping anytime soon. I believe the Turnpike Authority plans to reconstruct the 14A interchange next.

So is anything that they are doing going to ease future traffic at all?

I'm still not clear on the purpose of the project. Also, is there a schedule of working hours listed anywhere? I can't find anything!
