I'm surprised none of you mentioned Jersey City. JC has hands-down has the biggest presence of financial companies in NJ. Goldman sachs building is in JC and many banking companies have moved some operations to JC after 9/11. Especially IT jobs.
I don't recall the company names but there's pretty big pharma/insurance/medical industry presence around Parsippany/Morristown area.
Good luck

Maybe it'd be more efficient to look up actual job listings? I would think that would get you the information you're looking for much faster than asking an open question about where the big companies are.

I'm a high powered businessman. I'm looking for a job that pays $200k a year or more, that would be suitable for a high powered businessman like myself. Where should I live and when do I start?

Anywho, to the OP, there are companies all over the state, not just 20 miles in one direction from one city. Tons of high paying jobs at the pharma companies - mostly along the Rt. 1 corridor, many in Middlesex County to the Princeton area in Mercer County. Union County has its share of corporate finance companies too... doesn't UBS have a big place there somewhere? Then there's Prudential in Newark.
The A.C. casinos actually have a lot of pretty big financial jobs, so that's worth checking out, along with companies in the area that support the industry. Sun National Bank is HQ'd in Vineland with corporate offices all over the state. Can't think of it off the top of my head, but there's a major accounting firm with a huge presence in Cherry Hill, one of the nicest areas of the state IMO.
