NJ governor fires Passaic sewer authority staffers (33)
I don't always agree with the governor but this should be his #1 priority. Firing these political hacks that have 3 jobs, hire family members at outrageous salaries with bennies and pensions. This is one of the reasons that the state is in sad shape. Hacks beefing up pensions.Robbing taxpayers. They should bring them to Journal Square so we can throw snowballs at them.
I agree totally. This is what's great about changing parties, bringing in new people, breaking up the good old boy networks. No political job should be a career or provide a serious pension. Let it be a stepping stone or a chance to see and affect the society but not a permanent position.
I'm happier with a bureaucracy taking care of the daily grind of running the state -- as long as one of the main tasks of the politicians is to keep that bureaucracy from metasthesizing! Constant tinkering with the laws and the staffing just makes government opaque to its citizens. Simplify and publicize what really matters.
I actually like Christie. Keep in mind that even unpopular budget measures are an inevitable result of previous financial recklessness. Government should pay for what we need, not what we want.
I love you JM! You crack me up. Sorry, but everyone is still going to hate cops, teachers, firefighters - actually anyone who makes a living as a public servant - you're still evil. (but not in my eye) LOLOLOLOL
Great move by the Gov. The only thing I might add is while he got rid of 6 of these clowns how many will he bring in? Every single Gov is responsible for political hacks. So while I commend the Gov. I would appreciate he doesnt bring any in.
I heard him on the radio last night talking about this. Apparently one of them when asked for information about things like if he hired any family members not only refused to give that information but demanded an apology for being treated unfairly.
Too many people working for the state are making over $100,000/ year. Sorry..there are thousands , if not hundreds of thousands of people willing and able to do the same job for 1/2 that salary.
NJ has been getting robbed for a few decades now.
