The Borgata is nice, but honestly, what do you do there? They don't offer much other than gambling and drinking. It's gotten better, and Borgata is one of the better choices but I still don't find compelling reasons to go.

However, if i didn't have to pay for any of it...haha

a typical day at the borgata for me would be buffet breakfast, hang out by the pool, lunch at the titanium lounge, kill time somehow maybe mall at the pier, dinner at old homestead, show, hang around and see the drunken half naked girls looking for a nice gentleman. we usually go in the summer but we are actually going the weekend after next weekend. im going to be babysitting while everyone else goes to the comedy show. they were planning on seeing enrique iglesias but they would have to stand so its comedy club.

AC is too dangerous. That's one of its main issues IMO.

yeah, they really need to do something about the surrounding area. i refuse to go to the outlets. they need to create a safe zone that extends at least a few streets past the hotels so you can have a nice street shopping area with restaurants. like the strip on vegas where there are both hotels and shopping/restaurants. a little more walking around friendly and family friendly would go a long way.

they should also get rid of every crap store on the boardwalk and strong arm out the locals that walk on it.

The main reason why AC has failed is because ITS TOO DAMN EXPENSIVE! It's cheaper to go to Vegas for christs sake! Take a look at what they charge for rooms, especially on the weekends, it's like $250 per night and up! Then pay to park, the food is expensive, hell, everything is expensive there, thats the problem. Sure, if you're a gambler you'll get comps, but nearly as much as it used to be.

With all the competition AC has now, it must lower its rooms rates, lower restaurant prices, get rid of charging people to park, and loosen up those slots just a little so gamblers could lose a little slower.

The reason why there are problems is mostly image. People just assume that it's too expensive, too dirty, and too crime ridden. The Walk, where all those outlet stores, are is perfectly safe, and right now you can stay at some of the casino's for less than $50 dollars a night.

ive been to the outlets and i am not comfortable being anywhere outside of where the crowd is. whether or not crime happens doesnt matter, if im not comfortable im not going to be there.

rates are low during the week, weekend rates are super expensive. but i dont see it as the problem. you get more for your money in vegas. the hotels are better attractions than in AC and the strip is nice to walk down. the crowds are digusting in AC.

you need to bulldoze all the non-tourist areas and build up a strip like street. you need to get rid of the filth on the boardwalk.

you need to make it a place people want to take a week long vacation. the rooms are so expensive because there is a limited amount of rooms in the best locations. but they arent going to build more capacity because they survive mainly on day trippers.

Here's the other problem with A.C., and it's a two parter, everyone wants it to be like Las Vegas, and so so they do the worst thing they can do and try to imitate Las Vegas. When the Casino's first opened, they didn't have that on their minds at all, sure the people going there wanted Vegas, but the people in charge and trying to resuscitate A.C. were hoping to have a classier image, one that could be funded by the wealthy of NYC and Philly.

What A.C. needs to do, is stop trying to be Las Vegas, realize they have an ocean and start focusing on it, integrate Atlantic Ave and the Boardwalk, and find a means of attracting jobs for the people of Atlantic City (the offshore windmills is a brilliant way).

Hey, I know! All AC needs is a financial backer like that other poster is seeking.
