ROFL. I grit my teeth and try not to point out typos and careless spelling, but this was a pretty funny response.

Most places in NJ are safe. Never Newark- some parts are ok to visit but don't live there. I am not a fan of Jersey City but there are safe areas. Try Bergen County Most NYC commuters live somewhere in Bergen County. It's pricey but convenient. Look at Waldwick, Ridgewood, Oradell, Saddle Brook, Fairlawn, Mahwah, Ramsey (has good NYC train service btw). In Passaic County Wayne, NJ is good with good mass transit commute.

Default What is wrong with North Newark?

I was told that North Newark is a very nice place to live. I considered it, but I know nothing about Newark. I have a school age child so I am not sure.

Well its not Newark itself its separate unless you mean the North Ward. I would look in Harrison or Kearny if you have a small child.

Anywhere in Hunterdon County..no crime.. pretty much zero crime if that is your concern. There are train stations in White House and Annandale. We take the train station in Annandale into Manhatten and our son works in NYC and takes the train into the city every day... 90 minutes each way..but we love Hunterdon so it's worth the commute.
