I'm looking for some advice and ideas on where to eat while in Cape May County... this time of year. Many of the good shore places are closed right now.

I see places along Route 9 and Route 47, but i dont know which ones are really good; and i find with online reviewers - they seem to only write a review when they have something bad to say.

Any help would be appreciated - nothing fancy necessarily... can even be pizza or sandwich places. thanx

Lobster House is open year round, most of the places in Cape May itself (downtown) are open year round. Where in Cape May County are you going to be? Crab Trap is open in Somers Point, as is the Anchorage. Honestly, IMO most of the places that close are the "Shoobie" places, the really good restaurants get business year round. What kind of food are you looking for?

Thanks for the replies.

We are driving from Vineland, probably all the way to Cape May.

But we're taking a day trip, so we'd drive around to any place to eat that we could find. Seafood would be great - yes we've been to the Lobster House - and so would good sandwiches.

We had bad experiences on our last two trips - at two different diners. We walked out of one of them without ever getting served - it was really bizarre! (i'm not a big diner fan anyway, except maybe for grilled cheese lol)

We ended up driving back to Millville and eating at the Oar House, which was great.
