i don't tip them. NJ is the place requiring "full service" stations. but, once a guy checked my fluid levels etc, and i gave him a buck for the extra mile he went.

It use to be called a service station! WHY would you tip and where did you come up with $2.00 Shouldn't anyone work for your business anymore. Are we just insane in this country now or is it just this area..

As a kid I worked in a gas station and I check everything, that was my job..

How about this one? Do you all tip when there is a "tip line" on the receipt when you pay for take out?

What about those white cups with the word "TIPS" written in magic marker on the Dunkin Donuts counter...even at the drive-up window! Didn't mean to get off topic, but I absolutely hate that cup.

never get a offer to wash the windshield.

Like other had said, the gas already priced in their wage. I so wish they let me fill my own gas, that probably save 10 to 20 cents a gallon. with a 21 gallon tank, that's saving of $4 every time.

That's what I thought, it's almost unheard of them doing it without asking.

Yup, that's what most people here do. My friends who work at gas stations were all weirded out the first time they got tipped.

I have not had my windshield washed in NJ since green stamps were given out with your gas purchase. Where do you buy gas?
