My husband is a Lear jet pilot who works contract work. He wants to be home more so he is interviewing with a casino in Atlantic City.

Is there any where within and hour of there worth living in? The starting pay is is only $55k. I say only because I hear it is expensive up there and people always think pilots get paid so much. I will go back to working as our soon to be 4 year old will go to school now.

I need affordable safe housing, good schools and a lack of bordom. Am I asking for to much?

Thanks for your help.

Hi
I am about 35 mins from Ac if not less. My home is for sale at 279K. 3 bedrooms, 2 baths wooded lot.
It is in Osborn Island section of Little Egg Harbor in Ocean County. The schools are good & it is an extremely safe area. I can provide you with pics or more info if you want.
Or if you are finding any other areas you are itnerested in I could give you input.
Good Luck

I'm in Browns Mills, my house is also for sale 4 bdr - 2 bath - link if you are interested ($232,900). We have a 4 year old school program, then all day kindergarten. Taxes are low $2947 / 2006. I like it down here, love that there is no water bill (well) but we don't have to deal with septic as we have city sewer.

Default Near AC

Try Absecon--good schools, low crime, sense of community, pretty, good shopping, etc.--and right outside AC. Look at Galloway Township too...good luck!

Ocean County would be a great area to look in. All of the county is within an hour. I am in Beachwood, and could make it there easily within an hour. Probably 40-45 minutes. And the same can be said for even the northern parts of the county has many members have said. Brick is the safest town in America. Toms River is the 14th safest. Little Egg Harbor and Browns Mills as two members posted already are GREAT towns as well. I enjoy them both. I am not too fimilar with Absecon but it is right there. Very nice area from what I know of it as well.

Ocean County is nice because its accessible to a lot of the state. Toms River's schools are GREAT (Beachwood, Pine beach also feed into them). Forked River is a nice area as well as Lacey. So is Manahawkin and Barnegat.

What specifics are you looking for in the area? There is a LOT to choose from in that distance. Depending your specific wants/desires.. I think you are bound to find a place that will make you happy.

Default Same scenario

New Skin,

I'm in the same boat. I would actually like to venture west, like up the AC expressway or the Blackhorse pike. Any opinions on EHT, Mays Landing, Somers Point, Upper Township, Linwood, etc?

How far would the commute be from Williamstown?

Thanks?
