Yes. I used to live in North Brunswick.... the commute is terrible. It's not so great even when it's not rush hour.

NJ Monthly
there's the rankings for top public schools in NJ. Highland Park ranks 31, J.P. Stevens in Edison (one of 2 possible high schools your kids would go to, depending on where in Edison you live) ranks 82, north brunswick ranks 130, and Edison High School at 155.

I lived in Edison for 22 years. Great town!..Parlin is VERY tiny and completely surrounded by Sayreville.
Iselin and Woodbridge dont really have nice apartments.
Edison does have some nice apartments, post the apartments in Edison your looking at and I will tell you how they are.
Let me say this ALL APARTMENTS WILL HAVE ROBBERIES, maybe not yours but every complex in the country will have robberies and break ins at some point.

The figures provided by [quote=njresidentabc123;1211604] NJ Monthly are covering the year 2004-2005.
However, I think their ranking is changed in 2006, when I obtained the information from here.

north brunswick
If you go with North Brunswick, try to get as far north as possible if you have a typical 8-5 job. You'll hit a lot of traffic on 27. I almost think route 1 would be better. There are lots of rentals along both roads to choose from. Sounds like you're set on North Brunswick, but if you are still deciding, you should consider Metuchen as well. It's in the middle of Edison and has a relatively tight community.

Townhouse in Edison(North)
Hi !
I have a 2Br,2.5B,1 Car Garrage townhouse in Edison (North) built in 2001. It comes under one of the most sought after North Edison schools district.
I'm planning to sell the same since I'm moving out due to job relocation. If you are interested in purchasing the same, we can discuss further in details.
Please let me know. Thanks

Hi,
My name is Ali and I live in Metuchen which is also in the area. I live there with 2 young sons (5 and 2). I grew up in Highland Park and both are great small towns with main streets and good schools with easy acces to the NYC train line. I'm also a realtor in the area and you can definitely get something in your price range. In case you're not already aware, my services to you, as a buyer/renter, are absolutely free. If you you'd like, you can send me your email address and I can send you info on each of the towns and I can also send you available rentals so you can see what appeals to you. I would be happy to help you.
Ali

I would pick Parlin for that smaller town feel. I hate places that have lots of Traffic as the other area's do.

terrible traffic
The traffic is terrible in all of these areas, and especially in Edison. If you're looking for easy commutes, this probably won't be the place for you.
