Two of New Jersey’s most well-established charter schools are on probation and a third was warned to improve its student test scores or face a shut down, state education officials said today.

Trenton Community Charter School and University Academy Charter School in Jersey City were placed on 90-day probation last week and given a long list of problems discovered during a recent state review.

the solution is to lower the standards but make the tests harder. the ones that are going to do well will and the ones that will fail will fail.

Only something like 25% of charter schools have better academic achievement than traditional public schools when you compare similar demographic student populations. Slightly more do worse than the traditional publics.

How come public schools don't ever get threatened with a shut down?

I find this very difficult to believe.

After all, our infallible governor has told us repeatedly that charter schools are always superior to public schools. If you would like him to repeat that assertion, he will say it even louder for you.

Christopher Christie is never wrong. Just ask him and he will tell you.

Local 235 of Citizens Against Public Education Disinformation. Our governor has no skin in the game, his kids are private schooled. Although he seemed to get a fine education in Livingston when growing up.

Well clearly they are superior since you can close down underperforming schools. Kids are simply trapped in underpreforming public schools.

Kind of like our President, he doesn't want school choice. Can you imagine those commoners mixing with his daughters!
