I talked to a friend and the same thing , over 6 weeks and still nothing. Been sitting on the site as received but not approved. Got NY State and Federal in 10 days. And if they said it would take a while then no biggie but site says 2-3 weeks for electronic filing. State run out of money again.

when my accountant showed up the other day and i gave him my tax statements he said "looks like you did really well this year with investments" i knew i was in a lot of trouble. 2014 was a good year but 2013 was an awesome year and so there were lots of gains to distribute in 2014.

There is a huge problem with identity theft scams which are slowing down refund approvals all over the country. Intuit was hacked.

I had a feeling it had something to do with the intuit hack. The scam happened on the same day my tax return was sent was down for a few hours that day and my return took 2 days to clear. I fled mine with Turbo tax.

I just filed my payment online a few days ago. They are probably waiting for people to pay up before they start issuing refunds.

The site is currently up and running, but it does contain information to the effect that you can only see info about your electronically-filed return if at least 10 days have elapsed, and about a mailed-in tax return after...I forget...MANY weeks. In any event, even though I did an e-file only 8 days ago, the site did show the correct amount of my refund, and it stated that more time is needed for processing it.

Regarding the statement that somebody made earlier about Intuit's servers having been hacked, apparently that has not (yet) impacted the NJ Treasury. Here is the official word on that topic:

Processing Turbo Tax (Intuit) Returns

You may have read media reports over the weekend that Intuit, maker of TurboTax software, briefly halted the electronic filing of all state returns after 19 states noticed attempts by identity thieves to illegally obtain the refunds of legitimate taxpayers. Some states temporarily suspended the issuance of refunds to ensure they are distributed to the correct recipients.

So far, New Jersey is not one of the states identified in the Intuit situation. However, the Division of Taxation constantly monitors identity theft attacks, and has noticed an increase in fraudulent attempts during the past year. Prior to the Intuit announcement last week, the Division implemented new steps to help protect the identity of New Jersey taxpayers.

For the reasons mentioned above, it may take longer to process certain returns this season, and that means there could be a corresponding delay in issuing some refunds. The security of taxpayer information is paramount to the Division, and we ask for your patience as we process your returns in the months ahead.

Today, the status changed to "approved on 3/24/15" ( even though today is the 19th.. ) At least we are looking at delays on the order of weeks rather than months. I guess that's not too bad... certainly better than having someone hack the system to steal my refund.
