I am planning to stay at Comfort Inn hotel in Fairfield NJ to visit NYC. Can anyone tell me how I can travel to Time Square? I don't want to drive all the way up until NYC.
Is there any free parking nearby fairfield or on the way to NYC to catch bus/train from there to NYC?
Can you give me a good suggestion?

The #874 bus stops right by your hotel. You can take that to the Willowbrook Mall and transfer to the #193 or #194 to the Port Authroity Bus Terminal, which is a block from Times Square.

The fare is $9.85.

The schedules are here:

http://www.njtransit.com/pdf/bus/T0194.pdf (#194)
http://www.njtransit.com/pdf/bus/T1193.pdf (#193)

You can try driving over to the Willowbrook Mall, so you don't have to depending on the #874 connecting with the #193 or #194 (the fare will probably be a little bit cheaper as well).

Good luck!

I'm thinking there may very well be a Lakeland Bus that goes past there almost every half hour or so, but I'd check the bus scheds.
There are also park/ride train stations around Wayne just N of the big intersection (46/23/80), bus stations, also a large bus park/ride station where NJ-3, I-495, US-1&9 intersect, closer to the Lincoln, but avoids driving into the city.
