I heard that Mexicali Rose changed owners, and the best cooks went over to Senoritas in Bloomfield. We love Senioritas, was talking about it the other day.

El Bandito in Orange....... glad to see they're still in business, loved going there in the '70's (showing my age now).

Best Mexican fried ice cream came from the El Torrito's (looooooong since gone) next to Willowbrook Mall. I've never been able to find anyplace that cold equal their desert

OK - so I ahve not been to Mexicali Rose in YEARS so I need to check Senioritas!

I used to work in El Torito's in Secaucus. I loved the fried ice cream (your arteries clog just SAYING that...) too, until I worked there. Then you see how nasty it is.. and you are like, forget it! But I'm sure that can be said of anyplace

OH, and a lot of people think Mama Mexico's is great (original one is in NYC, now there is one in Englewood, NJ), but I was not all that impressed with their food and they are kind of pricy, service was fair, too.

Does anyone remember Fiest Hut on Rt. 4? I know the owners opened one up in Secaucus, but it didn't have the same feeling as the first. Strangely, the fact that there was always a wait and the servers couldn't have cared less about being friendly added to the charm.

I do remember... are they the same owners of the one in E. Rutherford? I love that one.

NURSE: Where is the place in New Milford? I'll have to check that out. I had a good experience at Mama Mexico, but I did feel it was overpriced.

I once had pork that was so good, I had to kill the cook to bring balance back to the world.

(and you know, I've failed miserably with my "300" references, so I'm hoping someone gets this one.)
