Anyone go to Pollo Tropical - I know it is not Mexican - but just wondering? I LOVED them in Miami...they don't seem as good in NJ.

Right on the money, exhdo1!
I LOVE Juanitos and agree, for some reason the Red Bank location is better. El Meson is great, too.

I'm getting hungry.

Tinga, with two places, one in Montclair and the other in Millburn, is a favorite of mine.

I've been to a lot of the places mentioned (Mexicali Rose, Tinga, Chevys, Jose Tejas, Charritos, Baja, Senoritas in Bloomfield, and plenty of others). I've gotta say the BEST places in New Jersey are: El Bandido in Orange (they also have a location in Spring Valley) and any of the places on French Street in New Brunswick!
