I'm just hoping whatever happens that there isn't a significant increase in traffic.
You're a dreamer. Holiday shopping with a sunday game or event!!!. It will be a nightmare. Chrisite has already saidf he doesn't care about the blue laws of what the towns wanted.

it might make a great deal of money when the super bowl comes in a few years.
Are you kidding? Why would someone pay that kind of money to come to a Super Bown only to hang out at a mall. Attendance at a Super Bowl isn't the game. It;'s the events leading up to the game. The vasy majority of the games were held in warm weather cities allowing outdoor events. In this case, the vast majority of the SB events will be in NYC as well as many of those attending.
All NJ will get hit with will be the huge costs of security, traffic control, health services and the like. If they are lucky, the state will break even. All the event coordinators ever say is what the event brings in, not what it pays out. If the state gets hit with a major storm the day off or before, they won't have a clue what to do.
If they can finish it, people will swarm there. It will be packed.
Really? Another mall in Mall-ville, NJ? There's such a thing as over-saturation.
I don't see it as anything other than a boondoggle and now the state is going to lend them MILLIONS more so some idiot can save face. It's a big white elephant.

It is more or less done. To not have it completed at this point is moronic. If it had been able to lease out more of its spaces, this place would have been open years ago. It has been a matter of not wanting to open with loads of vacancies for over a year now (some interior work needs to be one, but this is minor in the scheme of things)
Wikipedia claims that Xanadu would be the third largest mall in the world, depending upon how you measure it. Is this true? Even larger than the Mall of America, The King of Prussia Mall and the one in Edmonton Canada? If so, I am all for my state having such a distinction!
Personally, I'd rather see some wise guys take a match to this place and collect on the insurance on it than them finishing it.
