Because Secaucus Junction is a transfer station (if I understand correctly).
That was the original concept. It didn't work out so they added parking with was not in the original plans unless the Allied Junction portion (now dead) was built.
Sbarro's is terrible, but I'll be damned if I have 25 minutes or more between connections and I'm not glad I can grab a slice and a beer. Even a bad slice of pizza is more welcome than no slice of pizza at all. And beer is awesome. I see this as a plus for Secaucus Junction.
There slices are cold and sloppy service compared to the Pizza place in Hoboken Terminal...
Yes, that pizza is pretty good. Have had a few slices from there when I was traveling on non-rush hours or just missed a train and had some time to wait.
Hoboken Terminal pizza, Newark Penn popcorn--don't worry, folks, Nexus and I can tell you which train terminal has the best of everything. Hehehe.
Sometimes if I just wanted a train snack, I'd buy a baggie of mixed nuts from that fruitstand in Hoboken Terminal. I don't go through HOB all the time anymore, though, now that I'm not in the city every day.
I'm in that station everyday and it's awesome to have something there. I'm not a huge fan of the pizza but I have to say the chicken and roasted potatoes is actually pretty good and pretty reasonable at $8.

Grand Central Terminal has the best Bakeries in the Tri-state at least Train station wise , Cold Spring has some nice restaurants near it and a great view of the Hudson River , Valhalla Crossing is worth the trip up to Westchester its a wonderful Restaurant in a Train station house.

As of recently, I've really wanted to pay a visit to the Hudson Valley, especially the city of White Plains in Westchester County. I've heard in a way, it resembles nearby NYC but also has that feel of a small town.
