Working on Princeton
Hi, I am about to start working in Princeton, and I would like some advice about nice places to live near Princeton. I am 28, married and I have a 8 years old daughter. So, I am looking for an apartment, safe for my wife and daughter. I am willing to commute not more than 30min.
Please help

Depending on where your job is in Princeton, living anywhere outside of Princeton itself will take more then 30 minutes some days. Rush hour traffic is pretty bad there. You get used to it.
There's not a lot of apartments in the area, but there are a lot of 2 bedroom condos for lease and for sale in both Plainsboro and Hamilton. They're both off route 1 so the commute, even with Route 1 traffic should be about 30 minutes most days.

Plainsboro, Hamilton, and parts of Ewing, and Princton Junction are probably your best bets.

krusher is right, there are few apt. complexes in Princeton. You can look at Griggs Farm which is north of Princeton, in the township. 2 and 3 bedrooms rent for 1600-1900/month. Also Montgomery Woods is a short drive up Rte. 27 The townhomes there rent for about 2500/mth.
The schools in Princeton, Montgomery and West Windsor-Plainsboro are all excellent.
Good luck with your search

What's your price range? Ditto the above suggestions for the West Windsor-Plainsboro school districts; Plainsboro has plenty of rental options. I would also recommend Robbinsville, which is a 30 minute commute to Princeton. The school district is good, and you could rent a condo or townhome in Foxmoor, or a 2-bedroom apartment at Sharon Arms.

I have been working in Princeton for the past few months and I drive down from the city. From what I have seen, East and West Windsor, are very nice as is Princeton Junction.
In general the areas around Carnegie Center are nice and there is a lot here. Just within a few miles south there are several shopping areas, a Whole Foods, numerous restaurants, and easy access to 95.
Hope this helps.

Where in Princeton? What's your price range? Taking back roads (let me know if you need some help w/those back roads!) you can get to many parts of Princeton in under 30 minutes from several towns... I like... West Windsor, Plainsboro, Cranbury, Lawrenceville, Hopewell, Pennington, South Brunswick, Montgomery, Hillsborough... other towns that might be a little cheaper but not AS desirable (schools aren't as good, but still decent, I think) Ewing, Franklin Township (Franklin Park or Kingston), East Windsor, Hamilton...

Stay away from Ewing - bad schools - try to get into the East Windsor/ Plainsboro school districts - great schools
There are tons of nice, safe aparments in the Monmouth Junction Plainsboro areas.
