I was just informed of a possible job transfer to work in Paramus. I am from out of state and not familiar with the area at all. After doing a little research, I have come to the conclusion that there are not too many apartments available in the area. Can someone please tell me of any surrounding areas that I might be able to live in without commuting too far. Thank you in advance.

Try the following:

craigslist: san francisco bay area classifieds for jobs, apartments, personals, for sale, services, community, and events

Apartments.com - Free Nationwide Apartment Search with the Most Visual Rental Listings Online.

You could try Hackensack, lots of rentals there.

Paramus is ridiculously congested and overpopulated. Same thing with Hackensack. I lived in RUTHERFORD. (not east rutherford, but RUTHERFORD) for 2 years, and I HIGHLY reccomend it. It's one of the nicer towns in the area, has the commuter rail, and a gorgeous center of town with shops and TONS of restaurants. I lived off Union Ave, there's a ton of apartments on union ave- 1 bedrooms between $1050 and $1250.
It depends on what you are looking for, but Rutherford is absolutely the best in the area, and is 15 minutes from Paramus- and the Garden State Plaza in Paramus.
