Man moving is like working. The hardest part is finding something. Anyway Craigslist seems to be a bust, does anyone know a good place to find an apartment in the Orange/West Orange arena? Its difficult finding things using public transportation. I keep seeing ads for http://www.njrentals.biz but I dont know if thats a trustworthy site.

Realtor.com or gsmls.com are both trustworthy sites for rentals in your area.

Definitely good places to start, try hotpads.com as well, it's a map based search.

A friend of mine used to work at a real estate office and told me for the most part, those "$150 flat fee!" type places are a bust and not to waste your time with them.

Yeah your friend is smart! I had a friend use one of those services, they charge you to send you listings. They barely sent him any decent rentals at all.

Try calling a realtor. They will only show you places that fit your criteria. You may be able to see 4 or 5 places in an hour. Then you should be able to decide.

I had never had much luck with apartments in Jersey with realtors. I know they do that work in cities. It takes just as much time to show houses and their profit is so much more. Perhaps in a poor home buyers market things are different.
