I am trying to decide between these two apartments because close proximity to my work in New Brunswick is my criteria (limited budget too!)
Any input on either of these two apartments and the neighborhoods?
-Colonial Village apartment in East Brunswick, NJ
-Cedar Arms apartment in Highland Park, NJ
Thanks

Both are older facilities.

Cedar Arms was built in the early 1960's. They have been well maintained so far. Presently, the LXc will get you over to College Avenue from the bus stop across the street from Cedar Arms. Whether that will continue, I don't know. The "neighborhood" for Cedar Arms is mostly grad students and young families of Indian and Mid-eastern and African descent. The closest shopping would be in Highland Park, with a Stop N Shop and Rite Aid for medicines.

Colonial Village in East Brunswick is also circa 1960's with similar demographics. Transportation into New Brunswick would be by car either up Ryders Lane to Clifton Ave. To George Street or via Rte. 18.

Hope this helps somewhat.

You're welcome.

Groceries in East Brunswick Can be gotten at Stop N Shop which is a short walk down a back road into Lohemann's Plaza. Other shopping would need to be done by car down Route 18 S at Mid-Sate Mall.

One other suggestion would be to check out a couple of items in the apartments that people may not think of. 1) how hot the hot water is, 2) how cold the air is that comes out of each of the air conditioner, or, if you prefer not using the AC, make sure the windows one fully.

Good luck!

Great tips ...... thanks!
Some of the online reviews of colonial village in EB seem to suggest a possible roach issue!! Pity though because they have a better deal in terms of the monthly rent so i will have to "investigate" that....
