Yes. I'm not sure if there is a stop right at that intersection, but I do know that the #59 bus passes by there. The route travels between Plainfield and Newark. The schedule is available here: http://www.njtransit.com/pdf/bus/T0059.pdf
The buses run the most frequently between Hillside and Westfield. West of Westfield, the route splits, and some buses go to Union County College in Cranford, while others serve Scotch Plains, Plainfield, and Dunellen.
I was hoping it was a local shuttle or something that gets you to a train
Doesn't it? I was told that it takes you right there, and since your train ticket is also a multizone bus pass, that the ride is free. I would confirm that if I were you, but that is what I was told

How interesting. I am having a hard time figuring out which bus is it and where it goes.

If you take it going towards Newark, you can take it to the Elizabeth train station. Your rail pass from NYC to Elizabeth should also work on the #59.
If you want to save a little more money, you can take it into Newark, and then transfer to a bus in Downtown Newark that will take you to Newark Penn Station.
