Mine is good for 4 years. My mother's is good for good for 6 years according to the expiration date.

I know in the past it's always been 4 years--has anything changed? I bet they made a mistake on hers, but no notice in the mail--what should she do?
If it's only 4 years then her license is already expired.

According to the DMV website it is 4 years for all Class D/E drivers licenses (unless you drive a truck, this is what you have). However, it does say that state ID cards expire every 6 years. If your mom has an actual license, it should be do for renewal every 4 years. If she has a state ID card, it's due every 6.

Personally, I would call and double check. A typo on the license might end up being a real headache to get straightened out.
