I'm partial to Cheeburger Cheeburger

Smashburger is too greasy for me but I know a lot that love it.

Haven't tried Zinburger yet. The Red Robin in Clifton off Route 3 is Zagat rated for its burgers which I have to admit are really good.

Haven't tried Elevation burger...where's that? I'm always up for trying new burger joints

Tried both and liked elevation better than smash. But prefer 5guys overall out of the 3 places.

I dont know if this place still exists, but it is an irish pub in Jersey City called Park Tavern or something like that and the burgers there are out of this world. There is no sign on the building and there are bars on the windows (really sketchy area) but inside is really nice and the tables inside are those big wooden wire spools that the utility companies use. Does anyone else know what I am talking about??

Bobby's burger palace is pretty good.

White Manna for old-school sliders, Houstons[sp?] for proper burgers. Both in Hackensack.

My favorite is Barnacle Bills in Rumson (also like Broadway Bar and Grill in Point Pleasant), although they are pub burgers, and not a fast food burgers. I have heard good things about Rossi's in Trenton, but I have never been.

I prefer 5 Guys over Bobby's Burger Palace and have not tried any of the others.

Five Guys is the best chain IMHO. Rossi's in Trenton has been recommended, but I haven't gone yet.

This.

Those chains can be pretty good, but they're chains. There's nothing distinct or unique about them. Again, not to say they're not good and in some cases great, but you're getting the same burger there as you are in Akron, OH.

For my money on locations unique to Jersey...

Iron Horse in Westwood used to be high up on my list but lately they've been disappointing. Is it just me or are the burgers getting smaller? Regardless, their burgers are still very tasty and stuffed with cheese (a concept I've mastered in the homefront). The 101 Pub in Bogota serves up a really great burger as well (recommend the 101 Burger). Also a big fan of Harley's in Hackensack.

Man now I really want a burger and a pint of Guinness...
