Christie? A fascist... yes. But a Nazi? No.
I'm glad the Nazi remarks were rebuked.

I was hoping that some one could break down the exact changes that will take place with the new legislation. I know that the retirement age was raised to 65, what age was it previously? Also how much do NJ publiic employees contribute to their health benefits andf pension now,as opposed to under the new rules.I have yet to read an article that outlines the changes.Thank You!

So he didn't pass a new tax. That is certainly not the same thing as giving tax breaks to anyone.

willie- the contribution will go to 7.5% for teachers and government workers and 10% for police and fire. HC will go as high as 35% of the premium.
manderly- by not signing he gave them a tax break. You can spin it how you want but the fact remains if not for his veto they would have paid more in taxes.

if you want to argue semantics, fine. All I know is that millionaires are paying less right now than they did before Christie took office while the middle class is paying a whole lot more

Christie ran on a campaign not to increase taxes. He is sticking to that. The democrats had every chance to extend the tax. They set it up as a temporary one year tax and let it expire. They could have extended it even after Christie was elected and before he took office. Again they chose not to. It doesn't take much to realize the reason they didn't extend it at that point was to set up Christie. If he passed it, they would call him out for going against his promise. If he didn't pass it, they get to scream that he is giving tax breaks to the wealthy.

He told police, fire and teachers that anyone who said he would attack their pensions was lying.

His word is useless.

With this bill, he handed a nice payday to his buddy Norcross with the medical limitations. He's funneling clients into the norcross facility by not allowing treatment in PA right across the river. The provision was put in with no discussion or notification of the other legislators. Norcross gets whatever he wants and has already bought the Governor's office.
