I'm 26, never lived in my mom's basement... and haven't lived with my parents in about 4 or 5 years now...

Since I love NJ too, I guess that means people of all types love NJ

I know what you mean by this and yes I'm seeking out myself.

One has to have "THE JOB" as "A JOB or JOBS" doesn't quite cut it in NJ.

My brother in law can beat that. Not only was he almost 40 and living in his mother's basement, he got married and brought his wife there too.

Yes. And there are 40 year olds living in their parents' basements all across the country who are just as happy in their own states as those in NJ!

So what's your point stevemorse?

If I had a mom in NJ in whose basement I could live, I might be able to stay!!

my point is that they can afford the taxes, they don't pay it. Mom pays. There only worry is the Coors light 12 pack or 30 pack. It just a lot of losers living with Mommy who never get responsible.

LOL Good one. In all seriousness, why should we be surprised? Before I graduated College I had an apt., paid all my bills, and worked. It didn't take as much moneyto live back then. I fear for the kids today. How much damn money will they need to survive on their own? Will they ever have the experience of being on their own without having to be married or living with a significant other to supply the second, necessary income?
I fear for myself, too..geesh My son is 21 and makes $50k and has NO intention of leaving home. Not even a consideration. Why on earth would he? Mommy cooks, cleans, does the laundry every day and "sonny-boy" as I like to call him drives a new car, vacations 2x a year and is generally living large. Boy, does he squawk though when I ask for my room and board money every week. A lot of creative excuses, as you can imagine. All over $35 Imagine?

It sounds like a great set up. Just try to get him out before he turns 30...
