Default Winslow township?

Can anyone tell me about the schools in Winslow Township? Particularly the high school. I'm going nuts trying to find the correct data for it; and am hearing different reports of the school. I've had 2 realtors tell me they were good (they were not local agents) but what I read, if I have the right school isn't good.

We are looking to move to the EHT area. My college roommate teaches at Winslow HS and did NOT recommend moving to this district. He did recommend Hammonton and Mays Landing. If you find out anything else, please share!

Try Gloucester township... it's not too far from Winslow and the schools are better. Prices are comparable... less new construction... the area is more established and less likely to change much over time.

Tim, that was where we started last weekend, looking at a few places.

The thing is my husband is a truck driver out of Port Newark. Glouster is fine as long as we stay within some of the major highways - I mean not real close, but not too far either. Traveling rt 42 is a turn off, as long as he can go other ways it's fine.

Do you have any town suggestions?

Default Avoid Winslow Schools!!

I know of two people that teach in Winslow. They hate it. The schools are really bad. Last year the high school had a mini-Columbine issue with kids writing threatening notes about hurting others. Kids have tried to bring knives to school. Find any other community! Burlington County is great....Marlton, Evesham, Hainesport. Or I don't know if Gloucester County is good but nice communities like Mullica Hill, Swedesboro, Etc.

Really glad I made this post. I can't tell you how much the input has helped.

btw, I am in Burlington County. We're looking farther south so that we can buy newer for what we can afford. I've already looked in a few towns, houses are horrible, or the nicer ones won't work for us. We're willing to go from new to 10 years old.

I live in Washington twp.... and the homes and schools are great. Also Williamstown have great homes and schools are Blue ribbons. You may want to consider looking into these towns. I moved here from north Jersey about 4 years ago and my hubby still works up north- I don't regret the move.

Need more info. let me know.....

I originally lived in Philadelphia and moved to Sicklerville, NJ eight years ago. I currently live in Forest Ridge off of Kearsley Road, which is up the street from Wilton's Corner. I have twins that have attended Gloucester Township schools since the fourth grade, they are now 17 years old in the twelfth grade. I know a lot of the kids who attend Gloucester Township schools and Winslow Township schools. Some students are serious about their education and some are not. Provide your children with a good foundation from home and everything else falls into place. There are Catholic, and private schools here. Look up Gloucester and Winslow Township and you should be able to find out all you need to know. Taxes in Gloucester township are higher than Winslow.

Gloucester Township schools are very good. The Winslow Township schools are challenged by disruptive students. As time goes on both school systems will change as students graduate. Parents here are quick to judge the school systems. Parents should teach their children the do's and don't s in addition to respect.

Anything that you want to provide would be great as to different areas of the town. I've never heard of it, so will have to do some research.

Thanks pat. From what I'm seeing, Glouster is better; and with Winslow, there appears to be kids that are very disruptive.

My daughter has an IEP, and can easily fall into peer pressure, so I'm afraid in Winslow she'll act out.
