And, speaking of religion, I have to wonder about the religious background of people who believe that the elderly are expendable for the benefit of those who are younger.
While I don't profess to be a theologian, I know that the thoughts expressed by those guys are absolutely contrary to Judeo-Christian teachings.
Buddhists would also frown on that type of attitude.
As to the Muslim faith, Hinduism, Shinto, Zoroastrianism, and other sects, I cannot say. Perhaps some other forum members who are more versed in world religions could weigh in on this issue.
Anyway--those who claim to be moral and religious people with either a Judeo-Christian background or a Buddhist background should not be so covetous of the possessions of the elderly, nor should they be so dismissive of the elderly.
I'm sure raping little boys is against the Judeo-Christian background as well. This discussion has nothing at all to do with religion. But congrats for trying to make an absolutely ridiculous link.
Maybe certain groups in New Jersey should get tax breaks and others should pay all the taxes. This way we will have less school kids. So if seniors have no kids will most gay couples have no kids as well. Will this be the answer to give breaks to any group with no kids.
Seniors staying in their homes means a less liquid housing market... thus causing home prices to rise. If seniors were moving out, then more homes would be for sale at any given time. So it also helps keep housing prices high, which is a great benefit.
stop the exaggeration. Is all I am saying if I pay $10K in taxes so does my old neighbor whose house looks so crappy on the outside and he cuts his lawn once a year. Wait maybe I should have you cut it for him.
