Hi. We'd like to get down to our shorehouse starting this Saturday, but know that the parkway will be jammed. We can't leave until mid-morning -- probably the WORST time.
Going from 287 (exit 117) south to exit 98.
What time is "good" on a Saturday? 5pm? 3pm? I know they're all bad times, but traditionally, what's the least bad? Thank you.

before 9am or forget it and where on the shore is your house.
Doesn't 287 hit the Parkway just before the Driscoll? 117 hooks up with 35 and 36, but that's about ten miles past where 287 meets the GSP. On a Saturday, going south, late in the afternoon is probably your best bet if you can't leave early a.m., and by early I mean 6 or 7 a.m. 9 a.m. is way too late.

Yeah, 287 is Exit 127 I think.
Regarding the traffic, true, but what do you mean by "late afternoon?" I'm making a similar plan to head down Saturday afternoon, but I have no idea about what time the traffic starts to loosen up a bit.
287 ends and becomes Route 440 which puts you on the Parkway South above the Driscol Bridge (exit 127)
Whenever I have friends come from 287 I have them take Route 18 South instead of taking the parkway. Route 18 ends at Route 138 in Wall/Belmar (which is where exit 98 lets you off). You very rarely hit any traffic besides in New Brunswick, which shouldn't be too bad on a Sat.
