marv where are you from so i can say ignorant statements degraded your town based on no prior knowledge ?
Newark has its pockets of great places. Ironbound, for one. There's great research being done at the universities there. However, at night, it's mostly a place where you don't want to be. I think it's a great town to work, but why anyone would want to live there, I'm not sure. I get constant alerts about muggings with weapons. I want it to be a nicer place, but it's not.
You people are arguing about a cheap political point some cheesy ward boss made in order to gain free media print. This had zero chance of passing. He knew it as soon as he proposed it. Yet, someone made a post about it & it lingers on the internet.
Score 1 cheesy ward boss.
Good job dummies.......................
[quote=Nexis4Jersey;26295490]East Orange....How is he wrong , these places are just like Bodegas.... Thug magnets...
Perspective difference i guess because i look at them the same way you said as bodegas but when you look at the customers in there not all of them are thugs some of them live in the neighborhood and adding guns to a violent situation is never the answer

Actually, if you read the thread, you'll see that it has left the discussion of security guards and is now focused on the problems that are holding Newark back.

Yea............... I'm sure most contributors in this post are truly concerned, have a vested interest in & are consumed with the day to day dealings of Newark.
I'm sure their not concerned, however, with justifying their own mind frame on a political & socioeconomic level. Eff outa here.

Everyone who's posted today (except maybe you) has a vested interested in Newark. It appears that "NWK student rapper" lives in Newark, or is originally from there. "Nexis4Jersey" is a NJ Transit Advocate and NJ Transit's largest train hub in Newark. And I have a research lab in Newark.

I don't see what your problem is...
Grew up in Englewood lived in newark when I turned 18 and now I moved back for school. Loving every minute of it ! Research lab you say ? Nice!
"Research Lab" sounds more elaborate than it sounds. It's just a 2500 squarefoot space where we conduct user experience studies.
sooo .... a research lab...
