If you're looking for daycare/nursery school combination, when their kids were little, my friend and his wife took their kids to KinderCare on Whippany Road, near the Bradley-Braviak Funeral Home. They said it's very convenient, the prices were reasonable compared to other centers in the area, and it was close to where they worked. They also liked the caregivers.
As for me, I sent my own child to East Hanover co-op. Prices were reasonable, parents help out and get involved, and we loved it! http://www.ehcoopnursery.com/
Thanks ! Actually I am looking more for a pre-school/pre-K program since my child is four. In trawling the web came across quite a few with good reviews (Bridge to Learning, Kings, Sunnyfields, InspireKids, Rainbow Academy etc.) Visiting all of them may be too much, hence was trying to narrow the list.
My son went to KinderCare in Whippany for preschool/daycare from 9/09-9/10, right before Kindergarten. I moved him there from a smaller daycare that he spent most of his time at, because although I liked the smaller daycare, I needed something more structured and preschool-like, to prepare him for Kindergarten. I was very pleased with the school and the teachers. They are a little on the expensive side, even with the discount they gave me for joining with a friend, but I would say worth every penny.
Rainbow Academy is a nice school, especially the indoor playground, which was great for my hyperactive child (pre-diagnosis!) But we left after 2 months due to a conflict with the new director. It was a pretty traumatic experience. Not sure it would be good ettiquite to mention the director's name on here, but if she's still in charge, I wouldn't recommend them.
I don't know much about InspireKids, but my neighbors take their son there for preschool and I believe they are pleased with the program.
Thank you for the feed back. I'll take a look at these two schools, this definitely helps me narrow the list.
