I am a 23 year old black male from Elizabeth who attends DeVry University in North Brunswick. While I know I should be focusing on my studies so I can get my degree, I know that time is not entirely spent on doing so, and I spend only 2-3 hours a week on average getting it done and passing my assignments. I am at the age where it's common to see guys my age hanging out with their girlfriend/wife. I know there are some good women in this area and how to associate with them, but without just mentioning they're everywhere, which public places am I likely to find them? Plus, what cities or towns in North or Central Jersey can I find some women who are mostly nice and respectful? Thanks for the info!

You only spend 2-3 hours a week on homework? How many classes are you taking? This does not do much to make DeVry look like a credible "university".

While this is not even part of the subject, I take 2 classes per week while in the fall semester. Plus, while I was tempted to leave a second time week after returning there the day after 4th of July, 1) I'm not gonna risk having to pay over $1,000 for withdrawing like I did last time, 2)96 of Fortune 100 companies hire DeVry graduates, 3) 90% of DeVry students who do graduate move into their career within 6 months later, and 4) While DeVry is pay-for-profit, I haven't seen any proof of how it's not credible if I actually go there and the facts I just mentioned about it haven't been disproven. At least for getting my Bachelor's Degree in Network and Communications Management in which I can also get certified in Cisco and get paid good money, going to DeVry in my opinion is the best decision of my life and the fact that companies won't even consider hiring us is a misconception.

I'm sorry, I thought that you were going there full time! Anyway, I'm sure that you will do very well. I just hope the economy and job market has improved when you graduate!

Good luck in finding a girlfriend!

Opinion, not gospel: The best way to find a girlfriend, or a boyfriend, or just a friend, is to be doing lots of stuff. Looking specifically (online, bars, etc), usually leads to "hookups" that fail in the long run. No, it's not impossible to meet your soulmate on match.com but I think you are better off being a busy individual with lots of hobbies and interests that keep you out and about. Being out and about leads to friends and girlfriends and eventually "the one". It also makes you more socially adept, and also keeps you out of the house rather than dwelling on yourself. It can also present other opportunities for employment, friends, and other interesting happenstances.

I try to think of something to do when I have the free time even though it usually pops up in my head to relax while inside the house since I don't know what stuff I could usually do for free in my local area. I can socialize very well(I'm not anti-social thank you very much), but does anyone have suggestions what free stuff I can do to keep me busy while in that social setting?
