good place in jersey city to live - safe with indian community (Edison: apartment)

i have just moved to jersey city and looking for an apartment.

can you please suggest a good place mathing the following criteria

1. rent - $1500 to $2100
2. max 30 mins train or walk to exchange place
3. good indian community
4. day care centres nearby

could someone please help - i have a small kid and HAVE to move out of the hotel in a week's time and hence need to find some apartment soon.

Assuming you are looking for a 1BR apartment, you should be able to find something right in Newport or Grove Street for around $2000 - both within 5 min train ride to Exchange Place. If that doesn't work, you can always find a 1BR unit for under $1500 within a couple blocks from JSQ.

I believe the Edison/islen area has a high indian population, and metropark is right there for travel, might be worth a look.
