You realize that your dog is swimming in the public water supply.

BTW the rope swing and cliff jumping are pretty awesome at SRR.

Stay out of Split Rock Reservior. Dirtbags.-srr.jpg

Don't forget to mention the same dirtbags that feel they need to spray paint the rocks. Tell them to stay home

May end up closing it for recreation:

Sceusi, in a July 14 letter to DEP and Jersey City, charged that "the natural beauty of the area is being degraded" due to littering, illegal swimming and other misdeeds, including youths diving from rock cliffs into the water in video images that were posted on YouTube

Understand Splitrock had those problems before it was opened to the public.

So what has changed to close it down?

Maharg - I had a friend in college who grew up and lived in White Meadow Lake. I've been to Split Rock Reservoir a few times with him. It is a beautiful place, shame to hear how people are ruining it.

Saw an article last night that they worked out an agreement to open it back up giving Rocky Town Smokies power to enforce problems.

Cant u fking people clean up after yourselves? They have an OFFICIAL LAUNCH and yet no one is happy with that either. They have to launch and park where it says NO PARKING OR LAUNCHING. My Rockaway taxes pay for the morons who get lost in the woods. Therefore I should have rights to the lake. Not you idiots from other towns. There is supposed to be NO SHORE LINE FISHING yet every damn day there is. No matter where I go I cant walk without getting pissed off at the garbage I find in what could have been New Jersey's most beautiful spot. The Lake should only belong to Rockaway residents and have an age limit of 25. Boonton too.

Let me tell you something. If I catch ANYONE littering I will press charges against you and take you to court. Im sick of it and im sure other Rockaway residents are sick of it also. I live a mile from the lake and it makes me sick that people cant respect the rules and the nature. The dirt road now leading to the lake is full of CRAP. Im warning you. I am on the rampage. I will press charges against anyone mis using the lake. Trust me.

Thank You.

People are pigs but that is life. The real problem is the cops are too lazy to enforce any laws.
