A show about hard-partying young people on Cape Cod will only be as damaging to Massachusetts' image as "Jersey Shore" is to NJ's image if the show is simply called "Massachusetts".
I'm most upset that MTV decided to entitle the show "Jersey Shore". If they had called it "Seaside Heights", I wouldn't be as upset - the show portrays life in that SPECIFIC TOWN fairly accurately.
But MTV decided to paint the entire 120 miles of NJ coastline, and really all of NJ, in a hue of trashiness by naming the show "Jersey Shore".
NJ's already unfairly battered image took a knockout punch with this nauseating show. Shame on MTV, honestly.
