I knew it but I was trying to follow OP's guidelines. . lol Max went to my high school, Columbia High in Maplewood. I thought I knew them all but had no idea about Bette, Denzell, Daisey. |

Denzel Washington is from Mt Vernon, NY. There is no Mt Vernon, NJ.
Bette Midler's family was from NJ but she spent her entire childhood in Hawaii.
Geraldo Rivera grew up in Long Island.
Speilberg and Tom Cruise both had gypsy childhoods but each lived in NJ more than once growing up.

my brother went to HS with Nathan Lane (known as "joe lane" back then) and was in a few plays with him. bro said he knew back then that he'd be a star - really good actor and just as flamboyant (and this was a catholic school!). |

wow, that's cool tidbit. i heard from somebody i worked with that Nathan Lane used to work for a temp agency in hasbrouck heights or lodi between his auditioning. |
