I agree. "Watch the tramcar please... Watch the tramcar..." Grows on ya.

If it hits a bump, while it is announcing the message, it goes "Watch... watch the tramcar."

Yes............."Watch, ...watch...the tramcar, please"........
Wildwood is the best.
After 10 years or more of going to Seaside, we decided to try Wildwood.
It won everyone over. Its such a large boardwalk with lots to do.
The beaches are wide and clean. FREE ,and PARKING is not 15.00 either.
We enjoy all our times spent in Wildwood.
The only thing to watch out for is the older hotels, that have not been improved.
Always a wonderful time can be had in Wildwood, and its just a short ride to visit Cape May along with the "diamond beach"

i went to Wildwood this summer after approx 15 years.. and it did not look that great to me.. there are lots of hillbilly people.. as the beaches are clean, the type of people were mostly what i consider white trash, but then again this is just my OPINION.. .. oh I stood in the BOLERO hotel.. which is prob why it sucked.. paid 190. a night.. next time i'll just fly down to Miami.. ;-)

I hear Belmar is good..

Might as well go to Redondo Beach , Delaware or Ocean City Maryland. The hotels are dumps on the Jersey shore with the exception of AC and the boardwalk is full of pigeon excreations. I found it dirty there. The hotels smelled, even if you paid over $200 a night in Wildwood. Most look like they were built in the 50s.

Redondo? You mean Rehoboth?

Ocean City is a dumpy Wildwood, IMHO. Talk about trashy and crowded.

Tennessee beaches are spectacular from what I hear...

I'm not a cheerleader for Jersey by any stretch, and in fact there are a lot of aspects I hate about living here, but my job in NYC keeps me in the Garden State, and in the end, it all comes down to money. I have clients in both Knoxville and Nashville and wow, talk about a cultural wasteland. I mean, how many pick-up truck driving, cowboy boot, nouveau riche, chain restaurant eating hillbillies can one tolerate?

I know you hated living here, and you left for a better life (which is a great thing), but honestly, I am tired of the RAH RAH TENNESSEE posts in every thread. I hated the few years I lived in South Carolina, but when I post on that board, it's always in response to someone looking for help or a suggestion. You always have to try and find a bright spot in the environment where you live, no matter how much you hate it. Personally I could care less what it's like in Tennessee as I have no family or financial interests there.

If you can't find anything nice to say about NJ, then stay on your southern utopia board. Now, excuse me while I put you on ignore.

Wish I could have said this so eloquently (maybe it's the NYC borough "trash" in me that didn't allow it - I wasn't raised on Long Island)!

I'm sorry, but I had to vent. I was reading some of her posts and it always ends up with "well here in TN we live in a mansion, no car payments, no rude people, no this, no that, blah blah blah...". I mean, good for you, but I paid cash for my luxury car, live in a spectacular building with views to die for, and so on and so forth. I will never ever (this time being the only exception) say what I drive or where I live because there is always someone else out there with something better to bring you down a notch or two.

If people want to blow their money by leasing or long term financing expensive cars then so be it. Who in the hell are we to tell them what to buy and what not to buy...this is a capitalistic society, not North Korea. If it makes them feel better about themselves, then go for it, and if you are judging people by what they drive, you should honestly go outside to get some air then proceed to the nearest hospital to get your head checked.

There are also other people who post on here that sound like broken records about how we think we are better than everyone, how we are rude, how we are this, how we are that. Honestly, if New Jersey is on your mind that much, then we are doing a good job by getting into your head.

Now, back on topic. My top three shore towns are Ocean City, Lavalette, and Wildwood Crest.

Maybe its because you are Rude. My vote would be Long Beach Island in NJ.
Long Beach Island, New Jersey Regional Guide and Newsmagazine
I'm judging people only how they act. They act like they have Money in Manalapan and drive leased Hummers and they are in debt. It's all a Joke.
You may like Hoboken but to me its like living in the city. High Rises are not for me. I would never live in a Building. I've always owned a private home.
I'm going to the beach tommorrow, a lake Beach, with a Water Park.
