Wildwood is still my favorite.

It's a must visit every summer.

there are dozens of towns along the 127 mile long jersey shore and each one is different from the next, some are quiet places, some are family type towns, some are honky tonk, some are great for 20 something singles. no one town will be great for everyone. someone interested in getting a place at the shore needs to match their lifestyle to the town or they won't like where they wind up. A place like wildwood is a great place for a good time but
I think most people wouldn't want to live there with the crowds, noise and transients there. Many people would find a place like Bay Head too dull and not be happy there.
There is a town for everyone the trick is finding one that is good for you

With the gas prices this year, I bet the shore is going to be hurting.

I still want to make my trip to Wildwood.

I agree with this post. I love LBI. We use to go there as a couple, but once we had kids, we found they got bored with a week vacation there. We were saddened that our kiddies didn't like it as much as we did even though we went to Fantasy Island, ate out, etc. But then we found this "Slice of Heaven" called Seapointe Village in Diamond Beach (the pearl of Wildwood Crest). It has everything LBI has and MORE. Great beach, Four LARGE Pools (yes 4!!!), with a small slide, waterfalls, sprays, etc. One of the pools is an indoor/outdoor pool so if it rains, they have something to do. Tennis courts, basketball court game room, 6 jacuzzis, Deli hut on the beach, barbeque pit for relaxing by at night, barbeque grills in the pool areas, etc. When our girls were 7 and 9, we bought a small unit at Seapointe Village but didn't tell them. The morning we were leaving for our vacation, they were not very excited. Once we got there and they saw the large waterfall in the pool and the rest of the amenities on the 17 acre resort, their mouths fell wide open. Then when we told them we bought one, they went wild. They are now 13 and 16 and they still love Seapointe. So much to do. Their friends love it too and love to come with us too. Check it out!

Very family oriented - no gangs of rowdy kids in this part of Wildwood, guard gated community.

Go to the more about Seapointe link too.

Wildwood also has great restaurants ( Restaurants in Wildwood, NJ - Jersey Shore ),
4 piers of rides on the boardwalk , waterparks, is close to Cape May shopping, movie theatres, convention center with great entertainment, etc.
