I know it's a strange question, but I am just trying to be ahead of the game and be prepared for the hurricane. Thanks. Nutley

I noticed several stores I happened to be in had run out of flashlights today. I'm thinking maybe some of the dollar stores might possibly have some or some other stores where you usually don't go for a flashlight.

I couldn't buy any batteries this morning already. I have a flashlight, but no batteries. Oh well. I have candles.

D batteries were sold out across Jersey City today. Big box stores, bodegas, all had sold out. AA and AAA batteries still seem to be plentiful though.

An idea, go to a bike shop or a big box store that sells bikes and see if they have bike LED headlights. They're really bright and run on AA batteries. Or go to your local hardware store and get one of those little LED keychain lights. They're handy enough to help you find the bathroom, and no new batteries required.

Good ideas. I hadn't thought of the bike lights.

It's probably too late, but I also would have considered headlamps and high intensity book lights. A fully charged lantern will last for quite a few hours on the low setting.
