Smile What is the difference between Saddle River, Nj and Upper Saddle River, NJ?

What is the difference between Saddle River, Nj and Upper Saddle River, NJ? Which is richer? Is there any racism with Saddle River? Is it more new money or old money? What is the culture like? Is it safe to drive an alr mclaren around and parking it without worrying about getting mugged or something?

College Guy, you keep asking about HOW wealthy communities are on various boards. Your thread in the New York seemed less than savory in requesting information about car-jacking, how people live, etc. It doesn't sound good. Perhaps you're on the up-and-up, but, frankly, to a number of us, you seem to have malfeasance in mind.

Upper Saddle River is new rich, has schools, very Mcmansion like, very clicky. Saddle River is old rich and richer, much nicer homes, no schools, and super loaded. USR can't hold a candle to SR. Taxes lower in SR too.

Ditto on that! I have a friend who lives in USR and feels like she's "slummin' it"...her words! She wants to buy into Saddle River, but can't "afford it". Whatever THAT means. She's really lovely, just a little misguided, priority-wise.

Haha. I always thought Upper Saddle River was the richer part simple because it's "upper" saddle river haha. The word Upper made me think of like...hills and dales which usually means $$$. Like Bedford vs Bedford Hills, Bloomfield Hills, Beverly Hills, etc...

The difference is subtle, CHA-CHING versus CHA-CHING/CHA-CHING. Get it?

Saddle River is definitely richer than Upper Saddle River. The top three wealthiest communities in Bergen County are Saddle River, Alpine and Franklin Lakes.
