the worst in all of New Jersey are probably the areas in South Jersey. Trenton has bad parts, but Camden is way worse. Camden is disgusting compared to places that people think are bad up here, like Newark. No offense to South Jerseyans.

Newark isn't even all bad. Some of the projects on the southside of town are hideous, and maybe parts on the eastside. I think the Ironbound gets a bad rap, it's not the nicest of places, but still, it's not the worst.

East Orange and Irvington get bad raps too. They have some gritty parts, they jsut have very large African-American populations which is why other people consider them to be ghettos.
Damn, I'd like some of what you're smoking. We'll call those areas North Hudson. To even suggest that these areas are as bad or worse then some of the legitamite "so called gangsters paradise" is simply absurd. Look at the city comparisons in NJ and you'll find that they are actually, based on population density, safer cities in NJ. I'd prefer a bong than Ez's please!

Sweetheart, pick your poison. Shot in the head or stabbed in the heart. If you're refering to Asbury Park, I hate to break it to you, but it is one of the most violent cities in NJ. Considering that there are less than 20,000 people living in AP, per 100,000 persons it is by far one of the most violent. Trenton is just the same except on a bigger scale. There's a lot of good in both cities, but there is also a lot of bad.

what do you mean in the bolded sentence? i don't think the posters on this forum have "let" anything happen.
Easy cowboys, Clifton is still a decent place to live. It's just not considered the suburban city like it once was. As time passes, everywhere in urban NJ is changing. That's expected.

[qu ote=mariabog32;3668009]I'll add Elmwood Park!!! Moved here from Cedar Grove in October...Getting out of my lease 7/1/08!!! It's sad that whether your going to Walgreen's at 11:30 AM or PM... you have 2 Police cars in the lot @ all times!!!!! & NO!! There is no Dunking Donuts!![/quote]
Sounds like the cops are getting their money's worth. Would you prefer going into Walgreens @ 11:00 pm without them there?? What else are they going to do, besides sleep?

Dude, Bridgewater is a homeowners wet dream, as long as you're not in a flood zone

Let's be happy that we can celebrate at least one or two good NJ cities. Edison does not qualify as a bad NJ City despite what your statistics show. Let's enjoy one of our respected cities in NJ, shall we?

you serious? i've never felt safe in those areas. i just get a funny feeling whenever I go through there. I've gone through Newark, East Orange, and Irvington without any problems many a time. i was just in newark the other day, i felt totally fine. no crime or suspicious activity anywhere in site. i don't know, I can't explain it. I was trying to give an answer based on what I've experienced as opposed to based on what I heard.

you must be joking. i grew up in bridgewater. bridgewater is paradise, I loved living there. ok, so they did find the dead body of a prostitute just down the road, and she had marks on her arm from shooting heroin, and some kid did OD in front of my house in the middle of night... he died, but that's about it. Bridgewater has a fairly large population, so of course you're going to hear about one or two bad crimes, that's about it though. so don't be making up any nonesense ab bridgewater.

i did hear that a large wave of blacks and puerto ricans moved into the cheap condos they built up. I'm guessing maybe crime has had a slight increase since 2004 when I left??? is that what you're basing your stuff on??? cuz when I lived there it was nothing like what you said in your post.

Elmwood Park isn't bad. Cedar Grove is a little nicer though, I think. there both good towns with decent Italian-American populations which I like . cuz I'm Italian, I like communities like that. they're not bad though. at least the police in EP are doing there job, i live in Morris County and the cops out here have no crime to fight, so they pull over teenagers that do nothing wrong. when I pay my taxes, they are not going to fund a police department in Morris County! I'm not a tax evader, I'm only 17 so I don't pay taxes... yet.

look at Elmwood Park's initials... EP. it used to be East Paterson. but take a look at WP, West Paterson, great town! also a very large Italian-American pop. larger than both Cedar Grove and Elmwood Park. West Paterson and Elmwood Park both border Paterson and are pretty nice towns.

there's nothing wrong with P-Burg. just an old blue collar town. it's a dying town. I can understand that, that would turn you off from buying there, but by no means is it a crime-ridden area.
