Very expensive. Some celebrities have homes there. It offers them privacy and a quick commute to the city.

Yes, Alpine has street signs. They all use PO boxes rather than home delivery of mail. Some famous current residents include Sean Puffy Combs, Lil' Kim, and Chris Rock among others. I've seen all their houses and Combs is the most impressive.

I live in Alpine, the "ghetto" of alpine lol, upper middle class houses. Its real nice tho taxes are low. Only store is a gas station, good for blunts and that kind of stuff. You can go to towns real close for food 24 hours, and of course a 10 minute drive into NYC.

I just looked on realtor.com and the least expensive house there is $1,490,000. Most expensive is $49,000,000. Yeah, that's million! A monthly payment of only $25,000! wow

ha ha..i guess I am also a member of the "alpine ghetto" we live in a non-mega mansion home...among those of the rich & famousI guess. But its a good home, a nice, safe neighborhood and although I can't say I have met any of my neighbors, i guess thats sometimes a good thing. I grew up in hudson county where most houses are literally connected, nevermind the prospect of a yard! Yes we pay for our garbage (though not much), pick up our mail (but if you live in the "ghetto" its just a few blocks away), but have a wonderful school and neighborhood to raise our children in (PS- yes the taxes are low and NO this person is not kidding...there is 1 gas station in town - no other businesses at all...and thats IT!!!
we love it here....

Alpine is pleasant. The trash removal is twice a week and about $40 per month. You can pick up your mail at the post office which is open six days a week. The people at the post office are the nicest and most efficient postal workers I ever met. The taxes are a major savings over the next town, tenafly. I pay less than $6k on a million dollar house, in tenafly that would be about $18,000, yet my son will graduate from tenafly high school, where our kids go after 8th grade. tenafly schools are rated in the top 5 in the state every year. any more questions, ask me!
