Well if this isn't the most arrogant, condescending post I've read yet!!!!!!!!!!

What happens in NJ affects the entire Country?????????? WOW! We're more powerful then I thought!

As for telling US to get and and vote, most people I know do vote, even in school board elections.

And for someone who DOESN'T LIVE in NJ, you sure know what the voter turnout is though. Why the obsession with OUR State?

I'm starting to think there's a little more to your story then you've let on. A hunky guy from NJ spurned your advances??????????

Yes, that last statement was as illogical as some I've read from a few people on this board.

Sorry for stopping by.
Don't leave! I picked out your post not to pick on you as an individual but to make a point that needs to be said. You can love your state while being critical of how it is run. You can love your state but stand up and acknowledge that the dumping and pollution must stop NOW.

Well Denise, I do know that voter turnout on average for a non presidential election ranges in the 30% area. And that number is unacceptably low for a "democratic" nation.

Been married for almost 10 years now, sorry your stab in the dark about why I post here was a little off the mark...I've never even dated anyone from Jersey.

I am not the arrogant one here. You don't even read people's posts anymore, you just decided that you don't like particuar people and will take any opportunity to bash them. It does not matter what I say anymore you are going to take your best shot at warping whatever I say.

I did not even say anything bad about NJ that is the part that really gets me rolling!!!! You'd better call those people who campaign to get out the vote and let them know your discontent with their positive message of trying to involve the American people in their elected government again....start by calling all the actors and singers that pass along the same message I am..

Yes, NJ's welfare DOES affect the rest of the nation. Just as California's welfare affects the rest of the nation. NY, NJ, CA are huge industrial states and have a very LARGE impact on the overall economy of the US.
There is not one state in this nation that is a self sufficient island whose fate is not intertwined with the rest of the nation. (but don't let NYers know that ) Would you like a macroeconomics lesson now or can you just accept that as a truth????

If you are interested, plug in "DuPont and VX waste" into your favorite browser...see what people are doing to the lovely Delaware river. It is a rotten shame! If geography serves me right, the Delaware runs right down through Trenton and Philly area.

No state is without problems. And I am glad you did some digging of your own.

We all know the problems with NJ, so here's some things I enjoy about living here.

1. Close to the greatest city the country.
2. Best of all worlds: You can be at the beach, city, mountains skiiing, on a farm all within two hours of each other.
3. Friendly people. I've traveled all over the country and Canada and for a metro area, the people here are very friendly.
4. Opportunity to make a lot of money, if that's what your goal is.
5. Tons of things to do, I'm very outgoing and have never run out of things to do here.
6. Change of seasons, not too hot like FL and not too cold like MN.
7. People don't take any ****. You can guess what that said.
8. People are not phony, tell it like it is.
9. Great colleges. Princeton, Rutgers, NJIT
10. Very diverse, it's great to meet people of different races, religion etc...
11. Tomatoes, Corn, bagels, pizza, Portueguese in Newark, Italian almost anywhere. All of this is great, only in Jersey.
12. Convienence of everything.
13. Jersey boardwalks in the summer.
14. Casinos.

It's nice to sit and type positive, nice things instead of sitting there and saying "what else can I say that's wrong w/ NJ" and try to make the people that live here feel bad. Try it sometime.
