When he was running for the Senate. His mother donated the max allowed to Bergen County ($32,000). Mind you, she was at that time 89 years old and living on teachers pension. The woman also lives in Illinois and has never been in NJ.
Corzine has no intention of lowering property taxes and he raised our sales tax - not just to 7% but to about 34% when you take into account all the things that are now taxable that previously weren't. It's unbelievable that people still support him! He doesn't want to make the hard choices needed to brijg down the cost of government and actually lower property taxes. We need to consolidate some our towns, but no one wants to hear that. He raised our taxes and now is planning on either monetizing the parkway and turnpike or raising tolls or both. He supports the unions completely at the detriment of New Jersey tax payers.
Unless people really start caring about New Jersey, stop falling for the same old tricks - (you know that this years property tax rebate is just to get through this election, the rebate will be eliminated or lowered next year) - nothing will change in Trenton.
What ever happened to following the model Mass. used to bring down property taxes? I guess that was just all talk like it usually is in the Garden State.
