LODI, N.J. (AP) - A New Jersey police chief says no one is above the law - not even his wife.
Lodi (LOH'-deye) Police Chief Vincent Caruso ordered an officer to ticket his wife after she double parked while dropping off their 5-year-old son at school.
I get the impression that people who put those sticky badges on their windshield think they're above the law. Like if they park illegally or if they're speeding and get pulled over, it'll be ok because they're somehow affiliated with the police department.
how long did the chief wait to call the newspaper to tell them he was giving his wife a ticket?
when they say he ordered cops to give her a ticket, i guess that means they knew it was her car and called him to ask if they should give the ticket. shouldnt they have just given the ticket without the call?

Yes. It sounds like you have it right, but I doubt the chief called the paper himself.
Also those police shields do work, I got off once for having one while driving my moms car. The officer took my shield though.
I see undercover cops park in the HANDICAPPED spot to bring their family into dinner at nelli's in Waldwick
Dont know which town's cops these were
Next time I will video tape them, probably get my head bashed in for asking him where his handicapped tag is...

I give the chief credit. He's savvy enough to realize he's in a fish bowl up there and doesn't want to have to deal with the BS from "the masses" who would claim he's playing favorites with his wife.
Congratulations to Vincent Caruso for being smart.
Congratulations to Vincent Caruso for being forced to sleep on the couch for 6 months! I hope it was worth it.
