I know this thread is old, but I just wanted to let everyone know that the Ale House is open!!!

They opened yesterday, and of course I had to check the place out, being a fan of the ones I know from Florida. It's really nice. The place is huge inside. There are two sections, and two bars. The front park is the dark dank, booth and bar only section that looks a lot like I remember from Florida. Then they have a back section which is almost like an enclosed giant patio. This section has tables, and even a fireplace and some couches in the back!

Their menus and drink specials are pretty much in line with what they offer in other parts of the country (some items are a little more, but that's to be expected). In fact, I was pretty amazed at some of the drink specials. For example, on Sundays and Mondays, they offer $4 pitchers of Miller if you buy an order of Zingers (which you're likely going to get). It's their signature dish, boneless buffalo wings, which they pretty much invented. They also had a lot of $2.50 mixed drink specials. And you don't have to sit at the bar to get the drink specials! I can't remember the last time I saw specials like this at a place here in Northern NJ, so it was nice to find. I'm only scared that they won't keep these specials for the long term due to how expensive this area is.

The crowd was pretty large (shocking since the only notice they gave of the opening was on their website and Facebook page), mostly 20 and 30 somethings, and the staff was very cool. The only thing I hated was that they have the best spots in the front blocked off for valet parking. Really?!?

But that's OK. Park off on the side so you can walk off all the good food and drinks. Yes, this is a chain. (At least now. There were only a few of them in FL when I first discovered them in '97.) Yes, it's a bar. But it's a good chain and a good bar, and I'm glad to have them here.

Is Bergen Town Center the same place as where all the outlet malls are?
If so, that Bergen Town mall should take the trophy for best turnaround spot in NJ. Wasn't that area kind of a dive 4-5 years ago?
