You're the one making things more complicated. You recommended the go 28 bus, which doesn't even serve Newark Penn Station directly (see the map here:
New Jersey Transit). I suggested the 62, which
does serve Newark Penn Station directly.
We both said that once at Newark Penn Station, the OP would have to take the Newark train to Grove Street and transfer to the train to Hoboken. I'm not making it any more complicated than it is: I'm just stating that it is, indeed complicated.
The simplest way would be if the OP could time themselves for a North Jersey Coast Line train that goes directly to Hoboken (
http://www.njtransit.com/pdf/rail/upcoming/R0080.pdf). The OP can either take AirTrain or the #62 bus to reach the train.
The least complicated way is to just take a taxi. Just by suggesting transit and trying to make it sound as simple as a taxi, you're the one making this more complicated.
