Husband is in the process of interviewing for a position in Princeton.

Our background info..

We are a young couple late 20 's with two children 2.5 and 2 months. Currently living in FL. Own our home here in FL but will be renting until we can sell.

What we are looking for.. Area of town with excellent schools and a safe family friendly neighborhood. Would like a big backyard as we have two large dogs.
Our budget for a rental will be around 2,500.

Any info on where we should be looking for a home would be much appreciated!!

Princeton probably has the highest ranked school district in the area but rentals will be sparse.

You should also look in the West Windsor/Plainsboro, Montgomery, Hopewell and South Brunswick school districts, all highly regarded/ranked schools but because of this rentals are fairly pricey.

Best areas and schools around Princeton are;

Princeton
Cranbury
West Windsor
Plainsboro
Montgomery
Hopewell
Pennington
South Brunswick
Bucks County, PA

But the olny areas that you will be able to get some land and rent for $2500/month would be
Hopewell/Pennington
South Brunswick
Bucks County, PA

Two large dogs may be a problem. Even if you find a suitable rental, that will scare of a lot of LLs. Or they will want more rent or a big pet deposit.

Also look into Robbinsville. The town center and foxmoore areas are very safe, walkable, and full of young families. 15 min to downtown Princeton. The only draw back is there are primarily townhouses with small yards available for this rental price. However there are a couple dog parks within walking distance.
