Hi,
me and my family are irish and we're looking to buy one of these homes, we have a 1 yr old who will be going to school in 2 yrs. We're both from NYC, so we like the city lifestyle but seeking an area that doesnt need to be hip but at least close to a lot of stores/shops

You obviously understand that neither of these areas are really that great. Neither have access to what would remotely be considered good public education. With the limited budget you are working with I would recommend the Heights one on Bowers. It is a better neighborhood by far, IMO.
