What is with all this green, energy efficient, and affordable housing in NJ? I have been hearing about the one they built in Millville. They are in Hillsborough. They have some in Jersey city. I was driving around my old Newark neighborhood and I seen a lot of it there too. When did this start? Do you think it will work?

Also, I heard about the spike in Homicides in Newark, Trenton, Camden, Irvington etc. Is this true?

Did they find the cause of it?

Thank you if you answer my questions. I haven't been in NJ for a pretty long time. I just want to know what's going on.

If you have anymore news you would like to share I will be glad to hear it.

Are you making a link between green housing and homicides?

No, I'm asking about the green affordable housing and then I'm asking about the current crime spikes.

They have nothing to do with each other.

There has been a movement nationwide, not just in New Jersey towards green housing. In New Orleans, they rebuilt homes after Katrina that were energy efficient, so when the residents moved back, they could buy not only at an affordable price, but have reduced monthly expenses.

As the technology gets better, the cost of installing items like solar panels, will come down and make it more affordable to the masses.

The Newer Affordable housing is more open and gives people a sense of security....unlike the tower blocks of the 20th century which did the opposite... Crime tends to drop when the new housing opens up...due to the openness and developers tend to feel more comfortable putting up Middle income housing nearby....
